Debbie, I think that whenever people gather that's a lead generating possibility. Always wear my name tag as it usually gets people talking...well not at party's, but certainly when it's appropriate. When someone starts talking about a house for sale, or a house they saw that they liked...you know I can't keep quiet...opportunities are all around us.
If we aren't marketing daily then we gotta revamp our system. Your post is nice and succint. We live mostly off referrals from previous clients, however, if we do not communicate and let them know we are still in business, we sink.
Debbie~~ We need to keep marketing out selves on a daily basis.. exhausting as it is, we need to keep on with a plan. I love how here on AR we all keep reminding each other to stay on task!! Thanks... I enjoyed reading this
Marketing and prospecting have to be on the to-do list for every day. It's no good chasing round with buyers or nursing contracts to completion if you have no pipeline when they're finished.
I wish I could just do what I love to do (actual staging) without the "business" aspect of my business, but it's a crucial part of any business.
Debra, so true and you and I must be drinking from the same stream. Thanks for the great reminder.
Cal
Debra,
Everyone you meet should end up knowing what you do.

Debbie,
We should always keep prospecting in mind as we go about our lives.
Debbie, I generate new leads by keeping in touch with my former customers - they will send me their friends and family members when they are selling/buying.
Debra~I always give TWO business cards and say "just in case you want to give one to someone else or you lose one"....'cause you just NEVER KNOW!
I got a referral from clients whom I had JUST SOLD a lakefront property the first week in December and they were talking at their Christmas party--so:
1) I got a home sold, which was my listing just before Thanksgiving (representing both buyers/sellers)
2)AND got a referral for pre-qualified clients and showed them property in less than three months!
Debra, I am going to work on my new AR blog header when I am caught up on my commenting. But, you gave me a great idea....business cards with my antique business on one side and my birdhouses on the other. Bless you.
Debbie, I just stopped by to read the comments...I liked Gayle's comment #10 about handing out two cards...it's a good habit to get into.
Always selling and prospecting is what seperates the best of the best
Hi Debra! This is great advise, especially about how we should always be mindful of opportunities to lead generate when we are out in the public square.
Just out of curiosity, how would Patty or you work in a little lead generating if you ever met Jon Bon Jovi in person out taking a walk while you were on vacation? ^_~
Debbie - As Realtors it becomes a part of our daily lives, no matter where we are or who we meet. You never know....
Debra,
It is a part of our lives as Realtors or we are out of business...

Thank you for all your positive comments - much appreciated!
Ron- I think that sounds like a great idea!
Bruce-Somehow I seriously doubt we would be talking real estate! LOL
